Sharp DX2 series with Blu-ray recorder
If you don’t own a Blu-ray writer you are here for a treat. Sharp Aquos DX2 series is the first in the world to incorporate HDTV with a Blu-ray recorder. This series have displays ranging from 26″ to 52″ with a contrast ratio of 15,000:1. The sets boast 1080pix resolutions, a judder-hating 120Hz mode, and the ability to automatically adjust contrast. It has the ability to store up to 30 hours of high definition video on a dual-layer Blu-ray disc. The video is then transcoded and compressed to MPEG-4 format without the need of external boxes or wires. The base model costs as high as $1,740 and the price increases with the display size.
