Nokia Stereo Bluetooth Headset BH-214

Stereo bluetooth headsets have become an indispensable part of our lives and Nokia BH-214 has taken these nifty devices to a new level. BH-214 is a bluetooth module with a 3.5mm jack, microphone and a Nokia HS-44 stereo headset which can be replaced by any headset of desire. Essentially, the Nokia BH-214 Stereo Bluetooth headset turns any headphones or speakers into ones with A2DP support for stereo Bluetooth.

The Nokia BH-214 is absolutely stunning in looks. The medallion part of the BH-214 is about the size of the older Apple iPod Shuffle, measuring 50.8mm x 38mm (2-in x 1.5-in), and is made of sturdy white plastic. The front is covered by a smoky-blue plastic piece, which holds the controls for music playback controls, up, down, left, and right positions. On the top of the medallion resides the tiny power button, as well as an LED indicator light, which flashes various colors depending on the headsets operation. The audio buttons are on its front side, along with the call receive  key, while the volume rocker is at the side of the gadget. The Nokia BH-214 feels really nice to touch and is pretty light. There is a small clip on the back of the BH-214 which is rather a bit incovenient to wear because of the non-availabilty of spring clip feature (like the iPod Shuffle).

The BH-214 roughly provides 7 hours of music playback. An incoming phone call automatically pauses the music and then the music fades back in once the call has ended. Audio quality of this device is absolutely stunning and can be considered as one of the best amongst Nokia’s other stereo bluetooth headsets. It’s rather clear that Nokia has designed this headset keeping in mind music playbacks rather than taking mono calls. The BH-214 works perfectly within 30 feet and rarely produces any static or dropouts while in this range. Most phones are compatible with this device including iPod Touch. It costs around 3500 INR in India or approximately $50 in overseas. It can be considered as one hell of a stylish device with an astounding sound quality within a very affordable price range.
