Linksys Wireless Home System

For the lazy people, we have something to share. Linksys Wireless Home Audio System is a collection of six different items and utilizes wireless technology to allow music to be played in any location of your home.

This system comes in a variety of form factors, including standalone CD players with touch panels, hubs that connect to your home theatre system, iPod docks and systems with detached speakers. All of them have the ability to interface with each other and to play music simultaneously based on designated zones. Also since they’re all DLNA 1.5 compliant, they can pull music from the same digital libraries and connected devices. Compared to other similar product in market like the Sonos Multi-Room Music System, it has already crossed boundaries.

This home system has few major components. The Conductor (DMC350) is an all in one player that has its own speakers with a seven-inch touchscreen panel for navigation of digital libraries and also a CD player. The Director (DMC250) is a stand alone receiver pumped with a 100 watt amplifier with RCA and Speaker out so that it can be connected to any existing sound system. The Player (DMP100) is there to be plugged into an existing home theatre system via RCA cables merely acting as a relay for digital audio to your sound system. The Controller (DMWR1000) is quite similar in function like Sonos’ controller but this unit works over Wireless-N and has touchscreen capability as well as a D-pad. There are also a good list of accessories such as speakers, an iPod dock and a basic IR remote. As long as the wi-fi connection is present, any of the devices can access the content on the iPod till it is plugged in.

There will be three bundles offered—the Premier Kit, the Trio Kit and the Executive Kit. The Premier kit includes 1 Player, 1 Director, 1 Controller and 2 IR remotes. The Trio includes 2 Players, 1 Controller and 2 IR remotes. The Executive includes 1 Director, speakers and an IR remote. The entire Wireless Home Audio system, except the Conductor, should be available immediately.

The Linksys Wireless Home Audio System streams well with Internet radio, PC, Rhapsody and iPod-based music within three rooms. The device requires minimal effort to set up the network.
