Lenovo Ideapad S10-3s

Lenovo has left the IBM legacy behind and venturing into new designs recently announced a brand-new netbook for the frequently traveling users. The new netbook has been named IdeaPad S10-3s. It is a slim 16mm device which is very lightweight and is available in black, white or a “spring flowers” cover pattern. It has an 18.5 inch HD 16:9 widescreen display and comes with an NVIDIA® ION™ 256MB graphics processor for high definition video support with an optional single-touch touchscreen panel. The processor of this device is an  Intel Atom N450 / 470 CPU which ships with 1 GB of RAM and comes with a choice of 160, 250 and 320GB hard drives. It comes with an integrated DVD reader/writer. For improved video chat experience, it features integrated stereo speakers and the Lenovo High-Sense Webcam with a larger lens providing finer color & shading sensitivity to create clearer images & greater contrast, especially in low-light environments.

The netbook is equipped with the Lenovo Rescue System which provides a quick and easy solution to back up & restore important data files. Just like the other ThinkPad models, With a touch of a button users can easily restore their lost data with an exception of a new feature VeriFace™ which is a face recognition technology. The S10-3s has a 98% full-size chiclet keyboard, with individually-spaced and rounded keys that make typing comfortable & easy. One of the unique feature of this device is the Quick Start, which enables access to a range of applications, multimedia files, and Web browsing without booting to the Windows™ desktop operating system. The S10-3s comes with Dolby® Headphone audio and DirectShare that allows users to instantly sync their files wirelessly with any other type and brand of computer, without connecting to the web. Also it features MapLife which is a location-based mapping that detects a user’s location from a simple Wi-Fi connection and by using context-based mapping, displays nearby points of interest.

The IdeaPad S10-3s will be available from mid-April on Lenovo.com and will start at $379.99.

  2. It’s pretty expensive, I would’nt pay that much for a netbook.
