HTC Sensation
The closest competitor Samsung Galaxy S2 will ever have is definitely HTC Sensation. This amazing device is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor running on Android version 2.3 and features a Super LCD 4.3″ 960 x 540 resolution screen. Though the viewing angle is not as good as the Galaxy S2, HTC has put some peculiar contouring to the edges of the glass screen refusing any contact of the screen glass when it is kept upside down hence avoiding any scratches. The device merely weighs 148gm. The left side of the device features a volume rocker with a micro-USB input whereas the right side is kept clean. The bottom houses a mic with the top sporting a 3.5mm audio jack and a power button. An aluminum frame is wrapped around the back, sides and even a fractional part of front giving it a very sturdy metallic feel.
Sensation comes equipped with its propriety touch UI, Sense 3.0. It has a 8mp auto-focus camera with a dual LED flash for better picture quality in dark. The auto-focus is not as fast as it needs to be in low light condition. The shutter speed is fast, almost as quick as Galaxy S2. Sensation can record 1080p videos at a rate of 30fps. The quality of the video is superb with highly fluid motions and stereo recorded sound.
A microSD card slot has also been provided with Sensation with a default card of 8GB other than the 1GB onboard storage. The slot is easily accessible without removing the battery. HTC Sensation has an extra mic on the back to nullify noises. Apart from all the features mentioned, this phone can actually hit the coveted max HSPA+ speeds of 14.4Mbps. The loudspeaker housed at the back also does a decent job, though an inbuilt SRS virtual surround sound enhancement makes significant difference in widening the sound area.
To wrap up, we have seen a lot of Android phones lately with almost identical features powered by similar apps and HTC Sensation is no different. Though the Sensation is designed beautifully with a qHD display resolution and a powerful processor, it seems that we are still awaiting the elusive iPhone 5 to change the game again.
